I became a Larrie on November 30, 2021. (I only know this because I was so charmed by Larry that I texted a friend.) Taylor Swift had recently released her “All Too Well (10 Minute Version)” short film and I was bored at work, so I decided to watch it again on YouTube. “All Too Well” ended and YouTube started to autoplay its next recommendation. The video was called, “90 of the Best Larry Moments – The Ultimate Larry Stylinson Compilation” and for the next 30 minutes, I watched, enthralled by this love story between two people I didn’t even know. I was a casual Harry fan, and I knew of One Direction as a band, but that was it. Until that morning, I didn’t even know which member of One Direction Louis was.
I sent the aforementioned text message to my friend who was a 1D fan and told her what I’d stumbled upon. She texted back “Oh. Oh. Stylinson was a THING. They were sooooo in love.” and told me she was very excited for me – even if I was a little late to the romance.
I spent the next few days watching Harry and Louis videos on YouTube. Everyone has their own “what made you a Larrie?” moment. I have two: the Muzu.tv interview where a jealous Harry reclaims Louis’ leg from the interviewer and Harry serenading Louis with “Little Things” on 1D Day.
I created a Twitter account in December, made my first few friends, and have never looked back. It’s only been about six months but I find it hard to remember what life was like before. My mind is full of random Larry facts, I’m a fan of the whole 1D and solo discographies, and I’m more stressed and tired than I was before- but I wouldn’t change a thing!
