Towards the end of August, several candid-appearing photos were shared by Louis’ official YouTube Community page. The first image, in black and white, shows a pensive-looking Louis sitting on a sofa with a series of framed photographs on the wall behind him. The closest photo is signed, in very small print, “AAREN CLEVIE FORROW LOTTY.” The subsequent photos also contained random seeming text, some of it hidden and some obvious.

After talking to Louis Tomlinson fans on the promotional aspect of his music, it’s clear there’s a consensus that the fans and Louis himself did more work than Louis’ actual team. One such fan, @hannahishome28, stated that Louis means “simply everything” to them and that they “recommend him to my friends all the time. I tweet with his hashtags and stream his music!” A sentiment echoed by @stacemcw, “I’m sharing, listening, getting my friends to listen and encouraging people who wouldn’t normally listen to Louis to give him a try.”

From thinking that he could never be part of something so big, that this would remain a dream of his, to curating the now annual Away From Home Festival, Louis has come a long way.

Tipping The Velvet is Waters’ first novel and, in my opinion, it’s her best. From Victorian costumes to lesbian and feminist agendas, this book has it all. The characters are both outlandish and relatable (how does Waters manage that?!), the descriptions are vivid and tangible, and the whole thing together creates a literary version of pringles – the more you read the more you want to read!

Many people feel the song is a testament to their traumas and it is a source of comfort for those who feel isolated from the friends and family they once shared a close bond with. Recently, a random indie band posted a tweet aimed at Louis Tomlinson and how they would never dream of being a support act for him. Many small indie bands came out in support of Louis, slamming the original poster as being bitter and petty.

If you spend a lot of time reading, there are things you can do to show appreciation and give back or avoid causing undue stress. Here’s some advice for being a positive presence in the fanfic community.

I can’t wait to see the accolades because I’m sure they will come. This is a movie for our age, one that will be important to this generation. I hate to call it “educational” but I do hope that some people see it and learn something or are inspired to do research about our world and how LGBTQ history has evolved. I hope we are able to have conversations about the themes presented.
