HSLOT A Lot More Love Than We Thought

Heading Title

Harry Styles’ Love On Tour (HSLOT) welcomed us with open arms to an amazing experience and atmosphere that could have only been created by Harry Styles.  Not only were we entertained, we were provided with a safe haven filled with joy, hope, kindness, acceptance, and most of all, Love On Tour (LOT) was exactly that…love on tour.

Two days after his final show on July 22, 2023, Harry posted a heartfelt message on Instagram that ended with the words, “I love you more than you’ll ever know.” I can’t imagine anyone ever thinking that they could have felt more love through Harry and from Harry, but in true fashion, he proved us wrong.  Published reports that began to appear on July 31, 2023, gave us a small glimpse into just how true his words are.

News broke that through Love on Tour, Harry raised and donated $6.5 million to charity; he was pouring out more of his love almost completely behind the scenes since LOT began on September 4, 2021.  Just as he performed in front of 5.04 million fans (plus live streams) globally throughout North America, South America, the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, and Australia, his donation benefits more than 25 charities worldwide.  The causes span a wide range of needs and concerns, from humanitarian aid and reproductive health to gun violence and environmental protection.

Not surprisingly, Harry’s shows did not just treat people with kindness monetarily – they were also used as a catalyst for making a difference.

Partnering with the non-profit voter registration organization HeadCount, Harry offered fans the chance to win merchandise and a free trip to his 2022 Harryween show in Los Angeles as an incentive to increase U.S. voter registration and turnout in the 2022 midterm election.  Harry helped to register more than 54,000 voters.

On July 2, 2023, Harry used his show in Warsaw, Poland in a different way, but he ultimately had the same goal in mind – to positively impact the lives and futures of others.  Three Ukrainian refugees supported by the International Rescue Committee (more about this charity and others that benefitted from Harry’s donation can be found at the end of the article) received an invitation to attend the LOT show.  The refugees, a mother, daughter, and friend who are now living and working to rebuild their lives in Poland, were forced to leave their homes a year ago.  The mother, named Mayna, noted in an interview with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), “It’s been a challenge adjusting to life in a new country – especially for my daughter, Daria, and my 10-year-old son. I’m so grateful to Harry Styles and the IRC, which has supported me to pursue my dream career in Poland, for giving us the chance to forget our worries for a night, and sing and dance at the concert.”

It’s hard to describe the kind of love and the amount of love that Harry puts into the world.  Not only does he use his extraordinary talent to raise money for global issues and challenges, he uses it to help us, in a way, forget about them, even if only for a few hours.  Love On Tour may have sadly come to an end, but we are now being called to carry on its impact and lead lives of joy, hope, kindness, acceptance, and love.  We may not hold the same power that Harry does, but he sees us and knows that we are capable of making a difference.  We’ll take it from here, Harry. Thank you for being the perfect example. And by the way, I believe the feeling is mutual (we’ve discussed it)…we love you more than you’ll ever know.

“I know feeling so incredibly small in this world it can be really, really difficult to feel like anything you can do could make a difference. But I promise you, I see it all the time in the little things that you do and the way that you treat each other. How it has affected all the people around me, how it has affected people out there, it is so much bigger. It does not end when this tour ends. I want you to continue it. Put love out into the world. It needs it a bit right now.” ¬ Harry Styles at his final show of Love On Tour, July 22, 2023, Reggio Emilia, Italy
