The atmosphere was excited as fans chatted amongst themselves as they waited. Some fans who were unable to get tickets had shown up anyway with signs, hoping for a glimpse of Capaldi.

While Tomlinson’s performance consisted of 11 songs, the excitement of the event far surpassed the hour-long set, and for many, it became a 24-hour affair dedicated to the beloved musician and his long-awaited album drop. When the record was released at midnight, fans who had traveled to attend the concert gathered to honor the moment in their own creative ways.

From thinking that he could never be part of something so big, that this would remain a dream of his, to curating the now annual Away From Home Festival, Louis has come a long way.

With two years, two EPs, and three singles, the surf rock band has amassed thousands of fans worldwide. Their high-energy performances and music infused with the fun of growing up under the California sun captured the attention of Louis Tomlinson. He brought them along as his support act for the North American and Latin American legs of his first solo world tour.

Louis shows are so fun. Every show has so much energy from curtain drop to encore. When through the dark hits and you’re tired from dancing all night and the curtain drop adrenaline has worn off a little the energy comes right back up with the fireworks and the Pyro and its so fun.

When the band finally came on stage, there was no other way to describe it. You could feel something unhinged sizzling in the air. Isaac wore a Tigger onesie and Zak wore a matching gigantic orange suit and black bowtie. Louis “Always in my Heart” Tomlinson came to the stage wearing a white Burberry tee with a TB-logo (Tom Burgess, anyone?) and black Adidas shorts. We had the pleasure of seeing Louis’ spider web lower-calf tattoo.

“Going through security had us all nervous! When we were inside I basically ran to the bathroom to start taking it out and in the meantime, my friends distracted the police officer so they couldn’t hear the tape being pulled from my body. With the banner hidden in a merch bag, we found someone who was in a convenient section of the concert and handed it off. After that, we could only have faith in the girl we gave the banner to.”

The rest of N1 was fantastic, as predicted and as expected. Louis sang beautifully. He gave 110% to his performances and to the crowd. He was buzzing the entire night, feeding off the energy of the fans screaming at the top of their lungs.
